Conway11906 is right. That heavy duty ZF 5 speed is normally started in 2 for most driving. You won’t need 1st unless you are hauling or pulling, its a granny gear.

I love it. A real genuine Canadian redneck. I bought a 1989 rusted worse then that one, an F350 Longbed, Crew Cab 4×4. The only thing I saved out of it after driving it from Rhode Island to Atlanta Georgia was the engine, and running gear and transmission. Scrapped the frame and entire body and interior. I have those saved parts mounted on a 1993 frame we made a 4×4. I’ve had these diesels sit 3 years and started them up! Marvel Mystery Oil cleans the injectors very well, in 2 months.

Hey Dave can you do a vid on the trucks history since you’ve had it? That would be awsome and answer alot of viewers questions, including my own.

He got it from a back lot at a dealership. He said it ran great but it had too many miles to be a dependable vehicle.

Hey Dave, you have a 7.3 Diesel in this truck same as ours, but ours has 2 batteries, whats the difference? Ours is a F350 but same motor….Also you gotta start ours by the solenoid, after you turn the key on to warm the glow plugs, it wont crank from the ignition…How can I fix that ?? Please help me Dave! I have a video on my channel showing how I gotta start ours…
