@whatrodneysaid Quoted from WIKI Buck’O. “In common speech, steam most often refers to the visible white mist that condenses above boiling water as the hot vapor mixes with the cooler air. This mist consists of tiny droplets of liquid water. Pure steam emerges at the base of the spout of a steaming kettle where there is no visible vapor.” Ok this says what In common speech? Pure steam what?
That’s a BIG 10 4 on the transmissions being expensive, but tough! I converted my F250 IFS to a Dana 60 out of an F350 a week ago. The glow plug relays were a common problem on these trucks. What I did on mine was run a BIG wire from the live side of the starter solenoid to the live side of the GP relay.
These trucks are unstoppable! But the factory turbo units wern’t issued until 1993 and contined until 1994. You could get a non turbo IDI (the motor in your truck), Turbo IDI OR an early 7.3 powerstroke with HPOP injection.
You should turn up the fuel pump on her and advance the timing a hair, make a little more power, more smoke and more noise!
@rob29956 the timing belt in my 3cyl Metro had slipped tooth, it revved fine but was hard to start, especially a cold start in freezing weather, it didn’t like to start at all; it was also an interference motor so it bent the exhaust valves and lost compression in every cylinder, if that’s what happened in the Camry you’d need to rebuild the heads and top end (not sure if it’s pushrod of overhead cam, too lazy to check) and on that car it’s not worth it, i say full throttle mudding till it blows
@snakesonaplane2 Yeah alot of those metro’s had interferance engines untill they started toyota engines.. Bummer man! It is such a shame to loose the camry. That body style is one of the years that lasted forever! Well except for the rust LOL. I actually have 2 1988 camry’s sitting in the woods here. They both ran great when i parked them, but they are the 4cyl engines though. Btw i’m making some coldstart vids of my own and am looking for feedback…. Tell me what ya think!

Dave the camry sounds like the timing belt or chain has jumped. I’m thinking thats why you can’t rev it and it cranks over funny?
haha nice ford truck
@ethen24 actually no, its falling apart,
that Camry has a blown head gasket.
When armageddon comes and we are all driving Mad Max type vehicles. You will be a prized and sought-after mechanic.
@fanofdavidsfarm
No. It’s “Built Ford Tough” because it’s lasted through all the abuse Dave put it through, and more!
shame you cant cut the roof off and put it on ricks truck
i would love to see you restore that truck man.
@TheBeerBox80
Or a bent valve or two.. Definitely low compression in some of the cylinders, can hear it when it cranks.
@jc91596 haha that truck is beyond restoration
thats pretty cool, haha, changed the 5th for reverse, nce !!!
you rock
