1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel Start Up, Exhaust w/ Awesome Turbo Whine, and In Depth Tour

First off, I apologize to the cummins for my mistake in saying that this was a V8 haha, I know it’s an inline 6 and just straight up wasn’t paying attention. In thisvideo I give a full in depth tour of a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500 Cummins Turbo Diesel. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this truck while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this truck designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.

@fastestlapsDOTcom well actually GMC/Chevrolet duramax and Ford’s powerstroke diesels are both V8 diesel’s. Dodge’s older models were the only ones with inline 6 engines because they were already high horsepower and torque being a diesel plus it gave good fuel economy. Although dodge does offer a v8 cummins diesel in some older and alot of the new model trucks.

@fastestlapsDOTcom but your right, most off-road diesel engines use the v6 and inline 6 configuration because that really all they need.

    thats not a v8

Diesels are very reliable but since we have 1 life to live why spend it listening to an 18-wheeler sound when the new, quiet gas engines develop 300-400HP and get 20+mpg.
Ofcourse if I lived in the mountain in some nowhereland I’d take a diesel instead of gas-engine truck but few of us do.

My aunt’s got one of these…… it’s the 2DR Club Cab, Flame Red Clear Coat with Black Premium Cloth interior and Black interior trim…… has the 5.9L V8 with the Automatic and 4WD in it. Has every option but leather and a sun roof, great stereo too…… and only 32000 miles on it.

  18. fanowner12 November 13, 2010 at 7:43 pm #

Hmmm my aunt’s truck (same year, same trim, but with the 5.9L V8 instead of the Cummins I6) has different speaker grilles in the front doors than this thing, but all the rest of the interior is the same. I wonder why?

  20. greenarcticcat400 November 20, 2010 at 4:14 am #

  21. One3teen November 27, 2010 at 8:20 pm #

@ciastekwuzet1 No, there are only around 5 cars with diesel engines, but in the 3/4 and 1 ton trucks they are very popular.

  22. xcrunnersrock December 6, 2010 at 11:05 pm #

@JTyler52 does does not offer 8 cylinder turbo diesels in ANY of the new models,u get either the 4.7l v8 gas,5.7l v8 gas,or the 6.7l I6,not tryna be a dick but thats the facts

  23. ProRigWelder December 8, 2010 at 3:11 am #

@JTyler52 Dodge dosent offer a v8 cummins in any truck old or new because it dosent exist do your research bud

  24. garrett6699 December 10, 2010 at 3:57 am #

@fastestlapsDOTcom dude a 5.9 isnt even a large diesel. Most other common diesels are v8’s like the duramax and powerstroke.
