..lol….the joys of the diesel engine….

no a 2 stroke is a simpler version of a 4 stroke gasser, it burns gas and a special oil mix [for lube since it has no oil bath] and doesnt have valves it uses the motion of the piston to work as the valve

what is a 4 stroke gasser?

  6. cmsch180 October 17, 2009 at 11:33 pm #

Hi sstroh88, Sorry to say But sometimes it’s better to shut up. It’s clear that you don’t have got clue how things work… A two stroke diesel engine, is a sophisticated internal combustion engine; with valves, scavenging ports and unit injectors and a wet sump system.

@sstroh08 Look up Detroit Diesel 8V71,
8V92 or 6V92. Not produced anymore IIRC but used to be very common in marine (might still be produced for that application) Greyhound type buses/coaches and in semi’s. The military uses them a lot in the transport vehicles here in Iraq, probably Afghanistan as well. Emissions are tough to pass and the inline 6 is hard to beat. Enjoy the reading, I didn’t know it either until I started my Navy career years ago. Some folks are drag racing them. you tube it.

hey if you are in iraq ik its a long shot but please look for a jarhead named PFC Burkhart and tell him sam says hi, he will get a kick out of it lol

@sstroh08 Sorry but Army, Air Force and a few Navy folks here. Marines are in a different area. Lots of country to cover and once we’re in our area then we can’t travel to other areas except for leave. Well at least in my line of work. Otherwise, you betcha, I’d try.

@james420texas, if you watch the tree before he started the black smoke, he already has the green on the tree, he just puffing the black carbon out for a good carbon dust trail 🙂
