How do you get Diesel fuel out of clothes?

My son is in the Marines. While loading some equipment onto a ship, something popped and he got about 2 1/2 gallons of Diesel Fuel on his cammies. Between the pants and blouse, each set costs him abut , and he would like to try to save them. I’ve done a lot of laundry in my day, but have never had to deal with this. Does anyone have any suggestions that I can pass on to him? Thanks everyone.

as a former heavy equipment operator, try this. Take a 5 gallon bucket, fill with 4 gallons water and 2x the scoops of laundry detergent you would use in washing machine, mix thouroghly, place camos in bucket, let soak for 24 hours, transfer to washing machine, was normally. good as new.
