There’s no throttle plate on a diesel ya tunaboat.

Cross the two large terminals and turn the glow plugs on manually, or snoot the whoore full of quick start while it’s cranking.

And yes, the controller should ‘CLICK’ when it turns on.

often times the switch to the Glow plug realy goes bad and most rednecks just wire in a push button switch with new hot wire. Those relays usually don’t go bad

i don’t think u wanna shoot an engine with glow plugs with eather..isn’t that a good way to blow up ur manifold?

  15. creamyfilling102 November 1, 2009 at 1:10 am #

and i don’t wanna sound like a back seat driver, but isn’t it best just to crank it over until it starts, instead of cranking a little and stopping all the time? with our ford tractors, u just crank the son of a bitch for 20 seconds straight if u have to. it fires occasionaly like yours did. if u hold it long enough, eventually it should go.

If you crank it too long at a time, you’ll fry the starter. 20 secs is about the max, then let it cool for a minute or 2.

  17. cooldomo November 15, 2009 at 3:29 am #

no its not only crank 15 sec each at a time
