Where the trucks are stopping, is that where they’re supposed to stop, or is that where the engine gives up???

I wish they would have a DHRA pull round here, only me and other farm boys pull. I hate gas pulling even though I’m in it. Can’t afford a diesel yet, but soon very soon. I love diesel trucks.

Ill take a 20:1, turbo charged, compression ignition V8 any day over a gas motor.

  21. 808M4K3H808 June 19, 2009 at 7:14 pm #

    haha i agree…

  22. fixitluis August 14, 2009 at 11:18 pm #

most modified trucks like this one have the compression ratio lowered to 15:1

  23. bjjbluebelt369 October 23, 2009 at 8:03 pm #

It’s for the wastegate, not the blow-off valve. Vents excessive exhaust gas so the turbo doesn’t spin too fast causing a failure.

  24. bjjbluebelt369 October 23, 2009 at 8:03 pm #

It’s not the blow-off valve, it’s the wastegate.

So Cummins engines are the only ones that blow up? Anybody that pulls or races regularly eventually blows an engine, it’s part of the sport.
