Those 6.5’s have that unmistakable sound to them, you can tell them apart from miles away.
You could probably use heavier gears, those 6.5’s are normally used in big 1 ton trucks. It will go faster easier because you can make the torque work instead of rpm. I would aim for 1800 rpm on the freeway in overdrive. That’s just enough to make the turbo produce some boost.
The nova’s have soft suspension, that’s normal. Nothing wrong with comfort!

where is this? Looks like friesland or groningen.

Are you using the 4L80e HD version with the upgraded Valve body for medium duty trucks? Most of the GM trucks and the HMMWV/H1 shipped with that version of the 4L80e to handle the torque.

What the hell is all that rattling and knocking? Rough road, or is something broken? Sounds like a busted rearend or something. Nice car though.

Awesome job! And that’s from a GM (Garbage Mobile) hater! Where is this, btw? Looks like Europe from the road signs and narrow roads…

That’s really cool!!! What mpg do you get? Also, is this out of the US, it looks like Europe.

NO, SHIT, HUH. LOL, just playing. Thats not what I’m talking about. I drive diesels all the time so I know the sound. What I meant was the all the rattling sounds coming from the underside of the car. Sounds like some bad bushings maybe? I don’t know. May just be me. It is an old car, probably rattles naturally. I had a 66 nova that squeaked and rattled all the time. Just part of owning an old car.

I realized what you were talking about when I listened to it a 3rd time after posting and smacked myself in the head.

LOLOL, don’t sweat it man, it’s all good. On a serious note, it’s scary how people in the USA can’t tell that their cars are in need of some work. My GF asked me the other night why her check engine light wouldn’t go out. CAUSE IT’S NOT SUPPOSE TO YOU DORK! GET IT FIXED! True story.

My sister is like that, she gave me a ride in her 96 Sentra once and the engine light was on and she was like its always on. And the transmission on that thing is slipping. I changed the oil for her and there was like 1/3 quart of oil in the entire engine. And everyone wonders why I hate letting people borrow my Cummins, I love it to much to let someone damage it.

ain’t nuthin wrong with JTD’s i used to have a black Fiat bravo JTD 100HLX I got up to a good 41+Bhp out of an ECU map becuase of the high milage on it and added the K&N kit to the engine which only added 25+Bhp. The funny thing is, it still said 100 on the wing so Golf GTTDi drivers would think its still only 100hp and get thier asses totally kicked by a Fiat lol

I reckon u could mount that intercooler up front or get one from scrapyard, just need some pipes and hoses, can be pricey though, but some use metal exhaust pipe and rubber hoses.
main thing is to use special wide hose clips.

    is diesel cheaper that petrol?

  20. B04rD3r4LiFe February 2, 2010 at 1:15 am #

No, its about the same price wise. Most diesel engines get better fuel economy than their gas counterparts.

  21. WARD5KUSTOMZ February 2, 2010 at 1:21 am #

was asking cause i was wanting to know what the fuel price was out of america

  22. B04rD3r4LiFe February 3, 2010 at 5:15 am #

    O it’s about $3.00 a gallon.

  23. v8power200 February 26, 2010 at 3:53 pm #

    and it sounds good too

  24. dd4119 March 9, 2010 at 12:22 am #

Yeah here in America Petrol is more expensive because back in the day oil companies found out that Diesel is more fuel efficient and overall a better fuel and so everyone was buying diesel. In europe tho diesel is cheaper. I wish i had diesel in my car. My ’06 Chevy Imapala 3.5 V6 gets 340miles on a full tank. The new Clean Diesel Jetta gets 600miles.
