While testing out our latest transmission mods at the dragstrip we ended up with our best run ever… and became the first diesel drag truck in the 7’s! 7.96 @ 167.34!!!

  2. drmaxking March 23, 2008 at 3:33 am #

well thats almost impossible in a cummins I think but give it a big turbo it helps a lot

Congratulations on the record, do you have plans to improve the power output your actual kits have? it would be nice the option of a Big Hoss that adds up to 250+ hp, 500+ lb/ft

yes ….. yes .. lets start a diesel performance war … and let the consumers reap the benefits!!!!!

Are you kidding? The best thing about diesels is the black smoke. I just love to punch it when someone close to me has their windows down.

Gettin the smoke away if pure Engeneering.. basicly the *Engine is completly remade * using new and better injection positioning , injection timing ,flow rate setup just to name a few of what it need…. Banks shoudl really show to every engine compagny hot to make pollution efficient engine

So much nitro you mixing with the diesel……..

  12. bankspowerinsider May 20, 2009 at 6:02 pm #

Mixing nitro in with the diesel fuel would make less power not more. Nitro has a lower energy output than diesel does. Any nitro added to the fuel, whatever the concentration, would displace that same amount of diesel fuel and actually lower the horsepower output. As a matter of fact nitro only has 12.9mj/L of energy density while diesel fuel has 38.7mj/L.

    in the 6’s now.

  14. breakdancer637 May 25, 2009 at 7:07 am #

    whats the 0-60 time

  15. zagan1 May 30, 2009 at 2:45 am #

Getting rid of the smoke is having extra air in the cylinders diesels need the extra air rather than extra fuel.

they dont run nitrous in this truck… its just pure diesel fuel found at any old gas station.

just for the record, gale doesnt like the idea of nitrous anyways…. and neither do i.

can u explain the transmission problems to me, I didnt understand?

  18. stockxcarx29 August 31, 2009 at 9:31 pm #

if you wanted to make more power, propane is to diesel what nitrous is to gas

  19. SuperMuise September 13, 2009 at 11:15 pm #

well since its running a 7.77 at 180mph, id say its 0-60mph would be something around 1 second.

so how can banks be the first when the dr. performance drag truck did it on 2007 with their truck that used to be called Predator? of course, it wasn’t officially backed up in the same year….so maybe banks is the first ‘on the books’?

  21. bankspowerinsider November 10, 2009 at 8:47 pm #

@upinsmoke945 The only time Dr. Performance showed a 7.x time was when they smoked out the lights. They even admited it later. The quickest their truck has ever run was an 8.34.

No smoke! Thats impressive. My big ol turbos take forever to spool. Im considering adding a supercharger if I can get it figured out.

Hey bankspowerinsider I know roughly how you make all that power with no smoke but I would like to know if you guys have done any research into Diesel + Gasoline Mixing I heard of a research project that was able to increase diesel fuel efficiency by mixing Gasoline and diesel fuel in the motor.

  24. markification January 19, 2010 at 9:17 pm #

(to bankspowerinsider)The study was done by Rolf Reitz at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He achieved a 20% increase in fuel efficiency and up to 53% increase in thermal effiency.
You guys at Banks might want to check it out.
