@znofxz built by detroit diesel
turn the key on let the glow plugs run, crank for 12 seconds, shut off for 30, crank again, if it doesnt start after the second 12-18 seconds of cranking, shut off and start it again
FEEL THE POWER
Glow plug do not seem to be working.
just like our 94. took some cycling of thu plugs fore you would ever get it started
Detroit diesel sucked ass, why do you think GM went with Izuzu?
what RPMS is the truck at doing about 65 mph??
Truck still going strong?
@Microillusions I was gonna say the same thing that seemed to work for me on cold winter mornings in canada, but very nice truck and wicked condision
the lid on the engin with the red whritting reminded me of the nes white black and red but the lid had no gray
6.5 pos
cycle it more!!!! geeze!!
nice truck man im a ford man i guess but chevy diesels or badass
good GP’s would be a plus for a diesel to start when cold 😉
@lschvz007 My old 6.5 with 285/75R16 BFG AT’s was about 1800 RPM with 3.73 gears.
shoulda cranked for about 15 seconds before quitting… it would have started.
I hear sound that was knocking of your diesel engine.
@onecylanderracer on the 6.5 you cant cycle it more than once
its just a cold start
glow plugs dont seem to be doin there job… i got a 92 with 260k on right now and she will start up at -20F all day if u let the plugs cycle once and just when u crank and first fires give it a little throttle.. seems to work about 99 percent of the tiem
@hotrodnickell yes you can, just turn the ignition off and back on after the first cycle
40 is NOT a cold start! Wow I am glad I bought a cummins.
i like this. my dad has a 93 with a 454 in it and it was useless! diesels are the way to go for a work truck
Thats horrible!….. turn the key OFF and recycle the glow plugs!
Man. Ive seen better starts with a rod hanging out the block!
