In thisvideo I give a full in depth tour of a 1986 Mercedes Benz 300SDL. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I hate when people say “merc”, “Benz” sounds so much better lol
@benzlover55 do a start up and in depth tour of a daewoo lanos and a delorean 😀
@Matthew55904 um… was this direct @ saabkyle? Because I don’t own either.
do you have any new BMW’s ?
thanx for posting this, kyle. i love these old-fashioned mercedes-benz models. i’ll bet that in the 80’s, only the luckiest man could drive one of these.
@benzlover55 yea it was intended for him i didnt look at who posted this and i thought it was him sorry
@benzlover55 yeah, in fact i have driven one. everyone is entitled to their own opinion buddy u cant change em.
@shivam220 hahah they are but like these days performance is everyting. like when i need to pass someone i put my foot down a bit and were off haha. i can imagine that would be really loud and just awful lol. gimmie an old lexus or beamer anyday:p
@krakmxer great, because I actually own one. It’s been wonderful so far. And I like the look (they look pretty badass especially once you lower the springs and get some nice AMG rims etc). Just stating my opinion.
i love old mercedes’ interiors, they are very classic
Back in the day only rich people could drive these,and who is the girl staring in the white shirt?
nice
got to luv that diesel engine sound at idle……. NOT!
sounds like the motor is in a bad way hehe
I realize diesel motors are like this but I couldn’t live with listening to that knocking motor, It sounded ok when you revved it though, luv the tan leather.
That motor just does not sound right. Not for a diesel, it sound’s like it has a knock and not a good diesel knock.
i really like that car kyle i wish i can go to north carolina and pick it up and bring it here to california. i always liked the 300sd and 300sdl mercedes benz turbo diesel.
Great car. This car sounds like this when cold. Ive been told that if you switch to synthitic oil it will quiet down the lifters. But the crank was a little extreme! I can crank mine faster than most gassers, and it has 310k miles on it!! granted i just put glow plugs in less than a year ago! in awesome shape tho! great car!
The clock in the dash is very helpful.
The Headlight windshield wipers are very helpful! its washes all the road grime off of them from your seat!
Mint condition with the huge tear in the usual spot on the seat and faded wood? Starts right up after 2 sec of cranking? Sounds like the serp tensioner arm has gone bad from the rattling noise heard at the front of the car. Also, opening the hood by the pull tab is a great way to break it off: Always lift by the hood itself, not the grille (annoying when trying to film, I know). Sounds like there might be an exhaust leak too, but the crack free dash is a nice bonus!
3 people own Hyundai sedans
an old mercedes diesel like that will run forever. That battery in the back wasnt even hooked up though. A spare?
This was my first car (got it in 2006), exact color scheme and everything. Loved driving it and didn’t care what people said about the diesel sound/smell. Lasted till 120k and could have went another 100 if it hadn’t been rear-ended while parked outside my house.
My Accord is a great car, but this Merc was a tank.
Probably more reliable than my 2000 E320
I have one with 244,000 miles, it starts in 1 second and get’s 28mpg.
@golfmaniac007 30MPG, vs 14 with the gasser
@thetiremedic ok….you buy a luxury car and your thinking about gas. luxury and loud noise……hmmmm. people who drive diesel should have some consideration for noise pollution.
they are noisy at idle…..they’re built so well you can hardly hear the motor inside the car. Once you get going the rattle basically goes away and its hard to tell its even a diesel when they drive by.
