the only thing that is wrong with this model is the fact it has only four gears in the trans

You didnt wait for the glow plug light to go out before you started the engine.

Fantastic! That puppy cranked right over. Check out my Lubro Molly Diesel purge videos for it.

I want to put my penis in it.

why are you winding the piss out of it? Or maybe the trans is not shifting into 4th? Tach is broken, time for a tach amp, or maybe the cigarette butt quick fix. What year is it? I have one that is the same color, but unfortunately is now a parts car 🙁 Keep the diesel flowing, and keep em running.

I’d have it checked out. That terrible noise could simply be that it needs a valve adjustment. They should be adjusted every 15,000 miles. If that’s all it is and the transmission shifts properly, meaning no slipping, it’s probably a good car. They all shift hard between gears when they are this age, that’s not uncommon.

I had a 300td with over 450k miles. I may get a used diesel mercedes. They don’t make them like they used too.

That 617 diesel sounds just fine. No injector knock. These engines require periodic valve adjustments and injector cleaning to really run their best.

I am thinking of getting one of these as a first car. Any suggestions or anything?

  16. cooolcars August 4, 2009 at 10:07 am #

first car! they will be way too high to insure. how old are you? here in england it costs a bomb just to insure a little 1.4 car. about £2000 a year

  17. carlheanerd August 4, 2009 at 3:03 pm #

Haha, we already got the insurance appraised at $1000/year. I don’t know why yours is so high… Is it because driving is more of a luxury in EU due to your fantastic mass transportation system? It’s crazy that you pay so much.

wait for the glow plugs to warm jackass thats a good way to ruin them

  19. jason69maximus September 18, 2009 at 9:41 am #

The longer you cycle the glow plugs the less life they will have. If the engine is fairly warm then just start it.

The car is at operating temp when he starts it… there is no need to wait for the plugs to warm up.
