#1 Seagrave Fire Engine Burnout Diesel Drag Race 10-24-10 Mason Dixon TestnTune

This is my 1983 Seagrave 21 seconds at 61mph topped out at 1/4 mile. Was at 50mph at 1/8 mile. Need different ratio rear axle to go faster. Made it to semi-finals dialed in at 21.00 seconds. Knocked out by going too fast. Ran 20.947 on last run and was eliminated from bracket race. 8v92 Detroit diesel rated at about 600 hp at 2300 rpm. Allison automatic trans HD700 series. Engine from Setauket New York. I am from Hagerstown MD. Thanks for watching!

I remember a Seagrave K-cab pump that originally had a 906 cubic inch V-12 gas that was repowered with a Detroit Diesel 6V-53T. While it was certainly no speed demon it held its own pretty well. The 13-ton rig (fully loaded) could go from 0-35 in 14 1/4 seconds with a 5-speed manual transmission. That little turbo V-6 was a nice fit for that rig.
